LES ACTIVITÉS EXTRA-CURRICULAIRES INTERMÉDIAIRE 2

In light of the Foreign Languages department’s “No Make-up Policy” related to course assignments (quizzes, tests, etc.), here are 4 optional Extra Credit Assignments offered throughout the semester. These Extra Credit assignments are scattered throughout the semester and should be completed when they are due. If you have any questions, please speak to your instructor.

All activities cover various modes of communication as defined by the World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages, and reinforce the New School educational approach through project-based learning and digital literacy.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY 1:  FAIRE LA PROMOTION TOURISTIQUE DE MONTRÉAL

TOPIC:  Regardez cette video de promotion touristique sur Montréal. Imaginez que vous devez communiquer les informations de la vidéo à des touristes français qui veulent visiter Montréal. Enregistrez un clip audio qui explique les informations en français.  [2 minutes minimum]

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY 2:  AN INSTAGRAM STORY

(using your phone) (oral interpersonal communication)

Instructions:  Go to:   (2 mns minimum)

Topic:  Pretend you are an Instagramer and you create a story for your followers.  You can create a story on an exhibit you visited, a talk you attended, or a small trip you took.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY 3:  UN MESSAGE DE SANTÉ PUBLIQUE  

(using Animoto) (oral presentational communication)

[Instructions:  Go to: ANIMOTO (https://animoto.com/)  Sign up with your email.  Once on the page, click on create.  On the next page, choose Animoto Memories.  On the next page, choose a template. When you are finished with the video, you must click "PREVIEW" to see the final edit, and then "PUBLISH" to complete the project. Once published, you will see a screen with multiple sharing options. Copy the URL and paste into an email to your professor.  (2 mns minimum)]

TOPIC:  You have been asked to create a health message designed for New School students to promote a healthy lifestyle.  Think of one health issue affecting NewSchool students and create a video to inform students about the dangers of this issue and what they can do to protect themselves and help others do the same.
